What's their deal?

Risk a glance into Itawati's eyes, and you shall find they divulge no secrets of their own. Their unchanging smile was a veil guarding millions of secrets within, much like how the underground bar they owned - Smoke & Mirrors - obscures millions of secrets to the outside world, promising the patrons a rest from the weary outside world, where all troubles melt away with a glass of fine wine.

Smoke & Mirrors exudes an aura of elegance, charisma, and mysteriousness - much like its sole keeper. Itawati sits at the other end of the counter, their silhouette a constant among the patrons who come and go. They have seen drunken laughter, hollering confidence, and incoherent sobbing alike, sometimes even all at once. And yet there they still stand, their smile unchanging, listening - and claiming all those secrets as their own.

And why would such a figure ever want to aid the World-Takeover-ers, when they're such a brigade of fools? Well, decent entertainment was hard to find these days, wasn't it true? But the way their posture seemed to relax ever-so-slightly whenever the bumbling crew was around, the way they didn't seem to flinch whenever Anonymous wrapped a hand around their shoulder - could it possibly suggest a hint of friendship? Itawati's response is never more than a small smile, but when Gondo blabbered on about their supposed long-time friendship, Itawati's smile still never faltered.

And so, when the World-Takeover-ers knocked, Itawati was there to answer the door. And when the World-Takeover-ers wanted a "quest," they were there to provide - fishing out one secret from their endless repository of secrets to divulge to them, to lead them on yet another wild goose chase for a nonexistent artifact or a hunt for a legendary figure already long lost to the sands of time - all the while with a little smile on their face.

Risk a glance into Itawati's eyes, and perhaps you shall realize - a bit too late - that your secrets already belong to them. But, until then, would you care for a little something to drink?

FUN FACTS!

• Smoke & Mirrors is an underground bar - both literally and metaphorically. It also does indeed have several smoke machines, which make smoke to add to the bar's atmosphere.
• Is unnervingly good at remembering faces, voices, and names. Can - and often will - greet each and every patron of Smoke & Mirrors by name without missing a beat or making a mistake.
• Can solve most anagrams rather quickly.
• It is not uncommon to see Itawati entering a dark alleyway, only to find it empty by the time you get there.
• Give them a hairpin, a locked door, and three minutes, and you get an open door. They remain tight-lipped on where or how they picked up this skill to this day...
