The Eldritch

“The Eldritch” is actually not so much a species as an umbrella term for something most sapient species are unable to grasp or comprehend. Entities that live outside space and time, powerful psychics or reality-benders, or anything that looks remotely weird, maybe, are likely to be categorized / referred to as “the Eldritch,” often by commoners or non-experts.

As for experts in the study of the eldritch, they have their own way of categorizing these things. However, exactly what makes an entity qualify as "eldritch" is still up for debate, and probably always will be.

But, no matter what, unlike humans, monsters, sentients, remnants,, or literally anything else, all rules and workings of the Takeoverse crumble from the edges when it comes to eldritch entities. They could appear to possess uncountably many supernatural abilities, be able to rewrite reality altogether, or something even more horrifying.

When it comes to the eldritch, one thing - and only one thing - is certain: whenever you see these things, throw all your common sense out of the window. You won’t be needing these anytime soon. Well, except for when they somehow also conform to common sense. That’s possible too.
